Solutions
Matrix for HR and people operations
The work this removes
- The monthly attendance reconciliation
- Upload the attendance machine's own export — .xls or .xlsx, whichever it really is — and correct the exceptions instead of transcribing every row.
- Leave lives in email and somebody's memory
- Application, approval, rejection and cancellation are records, each notifying the people involved, with the approver's comments attached.
- Balances are recalculated by hand
- My Leave Summary, Leave Summary and Monthly Leave Summary read the same records as the approvals, alongside additional leave and deductions.
- Documents are in a shared drive nobody can audit
- Employee and HR documents attach to the person, classified by document types you define, in tenant-owned storage that verifies the requester before serving a file.
- The org chart is a diagram nobody maintains
- The reporting hierarchy is used by the product — it routes Daily Status Reports and drives the My Manager widget — so keeping it right has an immediate payoff.
- Onboarding means creating an account and handing over a password
- Invite the person by email; they set their own password from the link. Nobody else ever handles it.
Policy lives in catalogues, not in code
Leave types, holidays, document types, departments and job titles are all lists you maintain. That matters because HR policy is where products most often force a company to change its language, and language is the thing everyone in the company already knows.
Working from home is not leave
Recording a remote day as leave misstates both the attendance record and the leave balance. Work From Home is its own request type, which keeps both honest.
Notifications people can choose
Leave and DSR emails are per-user preferences. That sounds small, and it is the difference between a notification people read and a filter rule everyone quietly sets up.
Common questions
Do we have to retype attendance data?
Can we use our own leave type names?
